Who are we?
Liz Mathews
Liz trained as a mediator in 2001 and is accredited by Resolution and the Law Society. She is also a member of the Family Mediation Council. Liz has dealt with a large number of mediations involving all family issues and believes passionately that this is the appropriate way to deal with family disputes.
In order to assist families, Liz is also qualified to consult directly with children to ascertain their views and feelings and has had the privilege to meet many children helping them to understand and adjust to their new family situation by helping their parents to achieve the best arrangements for them.
Mark Bestley
This combination of skills means Mark has a unique understanding of the way unresolved workplace issues can impact upon the productivity of a business and the morale of its most important asset – its people. Mark remains a practising solicitor and is an Associate with Cheshire Mediation
Claire Young
Claire is a qualified Family Mediator, as well as a specialist family lawyer. She qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and practised exclusively in all aspects of family law since 1995. Claire has gained extensive experience of the varied legal and personal issues which families face at critical stages of their relationships, particularly those relating to financial matters and arrangements for children. This experience was gained during her time as a member of one of the largest and leading family law teams in the North West and then as part of a niche family law practice in Manchester city centre. Claire qualified as a Family Mediator in 2011, recognising that there are alternatives to litigation which individuals can choose to resolve differences and set the terms for their future lives. The insight and skills gained and practised as a family solicitor over many years support Claire’s practise as a mediator.
